Hi, my name is Jimmy McIsaac, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I earned my Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a pharmacist for fifteen years. That experience gave me valuable insight into the complex connection between physical and mental health, as well as a broader understanding of the healthcare system. My professional and personal experiences eventually led me toward this work which allows for deeper conversations beyond medication—focused on growth, change, and transformation through life’s challenges.
Sometimes the patterns that repeat in our lives are gentle invitations to pay attention to what needs care. You may notice yourself returning to familiar choices, relationship struggles, or feelings of stress, disconnection, or exhaustion, even when you are doing your best to create change.
These patterns often reflect a very human longing: to feel loved, safe, and connected without compromising our own needs, values, and sense of self. Sometimes these needs feel at odds or simply unattainable. Old experiences can live in the body outside of conscious awareness, and present-day stress can trigger familiar responses, emotions, and beliefs about ourselves and others.
In therapy, we can explore these patterns together with warmth, care, and curiosity. My approach is grounded in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy, with somatic and trauma-informed practices woven in. Together, we can help your mind and body feel more settled, while creating space for deeper healing, self-understanding, and lasting change.
If this feels like the kind of support you are hoping for, please email me at jimmy@tabonotherapy.ca. I would be glad to connect by phone or email and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
